Hawksley Workman Double Date CD Launch in April
March 15, 2010

Charlottetown – Hawksley Workman returns to The Guild for double the fun, unleashing tunes from two new CD’s April 12 and 13th.

MEAT was launched January 19, 2010 and MILK will be officially launched in June but audiences will get an advance taste of MILK on this tour.

MEAT, Hawksley’s eleventh album, marks new terrain. The record traverses styles in great leaps and bounds, while always keeping one foot firmly planted in Hawksley Workman ground. The songs range from bright, dance pop extravaganzas to dark, warring times where the battle is long over and only the repeated and brutal refrain of heartbreak and defeat remains.

This album is a product of seclusion and upheaval, mostly recorded by trusted musician/engineer Stew Crookes. Hawksley shaped ragged emotional ups and downs into a collection of songs that are amongst his finest.

Written in London, LA, New York, Toronto, Stockholm and Huntsville, the tracks showcase the creative wanderlust of an artist who never shies away from his instincts, however volatile and wild they might be.  In addition to Crookes’ involvement, the epic, hectic track ‘We’ll Make Time (Even When There Ain’t No Time)’ was recorded by engineer Clif Norrell and ‘Depress My Hangover Sunday’ was a collaboration with Swedish artist/producer Tobias Froberg.

MILK, the second Euro pop album presented on this tour was made one track at a time, in tandem with MEAT.  Both records will be available on vinyl during the tour.

Tickets are $32.50 and currently available at The Guild’s box office. Showtime each evening is 8pm with theatre doors opening at 7:30pm for general seating.
