Abegweit Chimes 1st time ever at The Guild
February 15, 2010

Charlottetown – The award-winning Abegweit Chimes will perform their first ever concert at The Guild on Sunday afternoon, February 28th.

Their performance will feature full choir selections as well as quartet performances from their repertoire featuring musical eras, wartime songs, and gospel selections, directed by Myrt McCardle. The show will feature special guest quartet performances by Ovation, the reigning Atlantic Champions, and Etcetera.

The Chimes generally place in the top three choruses in their annual regional competition and in both 2006 and 2007 they were crowned regional champions.

The Abegweit Chimes, PEI’s only women’s barbershop chorus, was chartered in 1982 and promotes four-part a cappella harmony in the barbershop style.

The 35-member female choir value singing as an important part of their lives and are committed to developing their vocal skills.

Tickets for the February 28th performance are $17 and are available at The Guild’s box office. Showtime is 2pm with theatre doors opening at 1:30pm. This is a general seating event.
