Award Nominees Partner for a Rockin Concert
January 07, 2010
Charlottetown – Jordan Cameron and the Disco Rockin Llamas are splitting the bill at The Guild on Saturday, January 16th to showcase their talents and celebrate the various award nominations garnered by Music PEI recently.
Jordan Cameron is a multi-instrumentalist whose main instrumental focus has been the guitar over the last 7 years while also writing his own music the past 3 years. His efforts culminated in the release of his first, all original, 8-song EP in October, 2009 entitled Drawing from Observation.
The album is acoustic-based rock with a folk flavour. Jordon delivered all instrumental performances except piano, delivered by Laura Oakie (of Disco Rockin Llamas) who also contributed back-up vocals on the album.
Jordan has been recognized in the prestigious category of Male Vocalist of the Year for the upcoming 2010 Music Awards.
The Disco Rockin Llamas are nominated for multiple awards, New Artist of the Year and Alternative Recording of the Year. Their style of rock, with bluesy and very danceable vibes, has garnered them many fans.
Their instrumentation includes saxophone and keys to the standard drums, bass and guitar combination, giving the sound fullness and depth. They will be sure to turn it up a notch when they hit the stage.
The show is a licensed event (19+) beginning at 9pm with theatre doors opening at 8:30pm. Tickets are $12 and available at The Guild’s box office or by calling 620-3333.
