Comedy Reunion on Dec 28th
December 09, 2009

Charlottetown – ‘Holiday Comedy Spectacular’ is a new comedy show that draws from a successful, 5-year run of sold out performances during the holiday season at The Guild.

Flanked by Xmas and New Year's, Dec 28th has become a hilarious night away from family and eggnog the past five years with 4 Skit's Sake'sannual improv show.  The group feels that with changing times and stretching waist lines comes the need to expand.

The Holiday Comedy Spectacular is their answer. It is hosted by local standup comedian, Fraser McCallum, features classic improv comedy from the 4 Skit's Sake troupe and standup from various Island comics as well as music from Charlottetown's Sister Jack, featuring Andrew Murray.

The one-night-only 4 Skit's Sakereunion features special guest, Chris Doiron, ofSheep-for-Wheat productions (The Lesson, The Dumb Waiter) alongside laugh-masters Colin MacDonald, Adam Gauthier, and Derek Bondt.

The new format also includes: Derek Bondt performing double-duty by treading the standup comedy waters; Charlottetown's Diana Love, who's made a name for herself performing to packed clubs in Toronto weekly; and Lenny MacPherson of local Sketch 22 and Jiggers fame, also renowned for his hilarious stage presence, melding abstract music with comedic stories.

McCallum will do his best Conan O'Brien impersonation as this year's show takes on a late-night show style. McCallum asks "What does every good late-night need? A suit, witty banter, and a house band!"  Charlottetown's Sister Jack will be stage-right, all night, playing original indy-rock gems and theme music. "They'll even concoct some improv magic with 4 Skit's Sake that's sure to leave audiences howling with laughter" McCallum adds.

The 1st annual ‘Holiday Comedy Spectacular’ is presented Monday, December 28th at The Guild. The show begins at 8pm with theatre doors opening at 7:30pm.  Tickets are $12 and available at the Guild’s box office in person or by calling 620-3333.

Please note The Guild’s box office will be closed Dec 24-27 inclusive so advance ticket purchase is highly recommended for this show.

Love the sound and fun dancing. Memories rekindled tonight. Merci bien! -
