Call for Submissions, New
December 22, 2009
Charlottetown - The Guild is looking for creative, presentation-ready works from all disciplines (spoken word, music, theatre, dance, comedy, film, puppetry, etc) for “Play On Words”, a new storytelling festival being held at The Guild in March, 2010.
We are looking for workshop submissions for adults and children as well as entertainment submissions for evening performances.
General criteria include:
- Duration should be 5 minutes to 1 hour in length (performance)
- Presents aspects of story creation or storytelling
- Has an end result (workshops only) - ie. a complete story developed, an opportunity for presentation experience or development of certain aspects of a story
- Stories about Islanders or Island communities are encouraged but not necessary
- Can be setup/torn down ‘on the fly’ or within 10 minutes (performances)
- Is self-contained with (limited) props provided by successful applicant
- Can be presented within a 12 x 24 ft stage area (performance) or classroom (20x 14 ft) space (workshops)
The only limit to presentations or workshops is your imagination. Honorariums will be confirmed directly with those selected to present during the festival.
Pick up an official submission form, including a general outline of criteria for each workshop, at The Guild during regular business hours via the administrative office or box office.
All submissions to be received on or before December 30, 2009 at The Guild offices. The Guild is not responsible for lost, late or incomplete submissions.

Final selections will be made in January and notification provided thereafter to successful applicants. No phone calls please following submission deadline.
