Charlottetown – The original Art Winter Solstice: MittenTime Revue And Mini Art Sale began as a fun night for a few friends to perform together over the holidays, sell some mini-art and maybe have an audience turn out to make the night complete. And the audience did come!

 

The 3^rd annual event takes the stage on Sunday, December 20^th at The Guild in Charlottetown.

 

Both the popularity of this tasteful homegrown show and its lineup of Island performers have increased. The original lineup returns, including Tanya Davis, Catherine MacLellan, Rose Cousins, Jenn Grant and Daniel Ledwell with the addition of Patrick Ledwell & Kinley Dowling in 2008 and a promise for more special guests in 2009.

 

Tanya Davis, producer of the show, directs the evening with her heartfelt, engaging poetry while the ensemble overlaps their talents of music and comedy in a Christmas theme and intertwine original, creative, seasonal attire in-keeping with the theme of the show. The group is ‘mum’ on homemade decorations and/or cookies appearing again this year.

 

The success of each of these Island performers, in their own right, has grown measurably over the last three years with many artists releasing new CD’s, producing new shows garnering national awards and being either a nominee or winner of ECMA awards.   Having such creative talent on one stage is an exceptional opportunity to celebrate Island talent.

 

Tickets are $20 and available at The Guild’s box office. Sales are brisk and this show is expected to sellout quickly.
