Martha Has Something For Everyone
July 31, 2009
The Guild is presenting a new work written by Prince Edward Islander, Marlene Handrahan (Charlottetown Festival, Mama Mia!), that is sure to lure you into “Martha’s” world.
It’s all about life - drawing on personal experience, relationships and interactions that make each of us the person we are, and we are not all that different from each other. Or are we?
“A Peek at Martha’s Box” is a contemplative group of monolgues, prose and music that takes the audience on an adventure of rediscovery and reconciliation through “Martha’s” eyes.
The adventure includes comedic, thought provoking material and original music. Handrahan takes the role of “Martha” whilst being accompanied by singer/songwriter Brad Davidge of Halifax, NS.
The on-stage performance is a complimentary interaction between the two that weaves perfectly together – a soothing yet reflective engagement in a cabaret setting at The Guild theatre. This new work opens August 12th and runs two nights only, back-to-back on August 13th.
Tickets are $16 (19+ only) and are available at The Guild’s Box office either by phone 620-3333 or in-person at the corner of Richmond and Queen Street in Charlottetown.
The performance is sponsored by Metro Credit Union.
