The Gallery @ The Guild in Charlottetown recently opened a gallery exhibit which was the kick-off to ‘Art With Heart’, a new fundraising campaign.

 

The gallery opening unveiled a collaborative mosaic which is the centre of all ticket sales and the exhibit itself. The artwork depicts an Island scene that 15 Island artists recreated while rendering their contribution in his or her particular style. The reassembled pieces of artwork create a stunning end result that measures 42” x 32”.

 

Tickets went on the sale during the gallery opening May 1^st with the first ticket sold to Harry Holman, Director of Culture, Communities and Libraries on behalf of the Provincial Minister of Communities, Cultural Affairs and Labour, Hon. Carolyn Bertram.

 

The gallery exhibit celebrates the contributing Island artists and showcases their individual works. One hundred percent of gallery sales during the exhibition go directly to the artists. The gallery exhibit runs until May 14^th.

 

Tickets for the ‘Art With Heart’ mosaic are on sale until September 30^th with all proceeds going to The Heart & Stroke Foundation of PEI and The Guild. Only 500 tickets are available throughout the campaign at The Guild’s box office during regular hours of operation either by phone or in person. 

 

With each ticket purchase the buyer receives an official miniature print of the artwork, appropriate for framing, as well as the opportunity to win the original.

 

The Art With Heart mosaic will remain on display at The Guild’s foyer throughout the campaign period.
