Arts Mixer A Success
January 29, 2009
The 2nd Arts mixer of the inaugural 3-event run was another success for the organizers. The mixer, held at The Guild theatre on January 28th, gathered 10 exhibitors and approximately 90 additional attendees who came and went throughout the 2-hour event.
“More than 75% of attendees were new faces from the previous event held in September,” said Cate Proctor, Executive Director of The Guild. “The event has definitely built on itself and extremely positive feedback was immediate.”
The air was filled with the buzz of conversation, the live music of Tim Chaisson, the whoosh of business cards being exchanged and many smiles and handshakes all around. The food table was a popular one, with a variety of delectable culinary treats donated by Kurt Ellis and his staff at Simple Pleasures Catering.
Catherine O’Brien, Artistic Producer of Young At Heart Theatre (co-presenter) was very pleased with the number of new contacts she personally made. “This is what this event is all about - networking. Throughout the event, I overheard many new introductions and know that contacts made today are already leading to collaborative efforts in the future.”
When asked if this will become an annual event, Proctor replied, “If the support and response to-date is any indication, absolutely.”
The Arts Mixers are presented in partnership by The Guild, Young At Heart Theatre and The Buzz.
The next Arts Mixer will be held at The Guild in April, 2009. If you are interested in participating or would like further information, please contact Jennifer Long, Event Liaison at 368-4479.
