Event Assistant- denise@theguildpei.com
Denise has long history in performance and art. From her early 70’s affiliations with Campbell’s Coffee House in Hamilton, ON where Bruce Cockburn, Stan Rogers and others on the coffee-house circuit played, to when she eventually played in duos or groups from 1979 to 1998. As a child, Denise’s easel stood next to her mother’s and influenced by family friend Tessa Kiddick - one of Ontario’s first art potters – Denise took up pottery in 1974, then glass-blowing in 1979. Leaving visual arts for the duration of her daughter’s childhoods she returned to music. Then in 1995 Denise turned to stone…carving stone that is…and continued this art form for seven years until her hands told her she had better stop. Over the years, Denise has organized or supported many community events, and thoroughly enjoys facilitating the best feelings and outcomes for every creative endeavour. The culture of every society grows with access and opportunity and that is what Denise sees The Guild team nurture. |
